Thanks to the show and in particular to the teachers, the former academician was able to open up and accept her homosexuality. According to her, the “Star Ac ‘” has also helped thousands of young people in the same situation.

She is one of the first reality TV contestants to speak openly about her homosexuality on television. If the star Academy upset the lives of dozens of candidates, this is all the more true for Anne-Laure Sibon, legendary candidate of season 2. The show allowed her to assume who she was and especially her homosexuality. On the occasion of second premium of the issue Star Academy: we said we’ll meet in 20 years, broadcast Saturday, November 6, the 38-year-old woman has also returned to a highlight of her adventure: a theater class during which she gives herself up without filter on her story, her sexuality and the weight she has on shoulders for so many years.

In the sequence, we find a young Anne-Laure who has just come of age, with her eternal bandana on her hair, on the platform of the rehearsal room of the castle. She recounts, very moved, her “Huge problem”, the fact that she does not manage to find her place, and this, from childhood, because she liked to play soccer with the boys, but could not, because she was a girl. At this moment, “I am torn between protecting my family because we are on television and taking responsibility for myself”, remembers the former academician, years later, on the set of the anniversary show.

“It was not easy”

It is mainly thanks to Oscar Sisto, the former theater teacher who used to take students out of their comfort zone and make them talk about their privacy, that the singer finally came to accept herself. His participation in the star Academy has also helped to break down a little more the taboo of homosexuality within society. “We must remember that 20 years ago in France, homosexuality was not there”, specifies Anne-Laure. “Having on TF1, every night, a homosexual woman who takes responsibility and whom people have learned to love has helped thousands of people. It was not easy, but we really did good for people. ”

The young woman also says that during the tour, there were rainbow flags every night in the public. An observation also shared by Oscar Sisto. “It was exposed to all the public and it was a therapy, not only for you and for me, but for many people who think like us”, adds the former professor. Today, Anne-Laure is totally fulfilled and has been married for two years with Olivia, a tennis teacher.
