Siri

The American brand is preparing to modify the voice command used to call the assistant. Please note, however, that this change is not expected for many months.

Siri is already 11 years old, and how far the voice assistant has come since its introduction in 2011 with the iPhone 4S.

Siri has been supporting Apple products for more than a decade already

The technology acquired by Apple has since been integrated into all products designed by the manufacturer, from iPads to MacBooks, including Apple Watch and HomePod mini.

If the voice assistant was very limited at the time, basically containing you to open an application, to note a reminder or to send a message to one of your correspondents, Apple has regularly enriched it to offer many other possibilities of interaction. The voice assistant is still behind its competitors Alexa or Google Assistant, especially in French, with regard to questions of general knowledge or online searches.

For ages, Apple has implemented the command ” Say Siri ” Where ” Hey Siri in English to trigger the voice assistant on its devices. But that could change in several months.

The brand wants to remove the “Say” from “Siri” and this is not without difficulties

According to information from Mark Gurman, of Bloomberg, Apple would work to simplify voice control. So it would suffice to say ” Siri to their iPhone or any other web-connected Apple device to trigger voice recognition more easily and streamline “conversations” between users and Apple technology.

This change seems trivial, but brings its share of problems to solve. Apple has reportedly been working for several months on modifying the voice recognition engine and training its artificial intelligence engines to recognize the single keyword “Siri” in different environments, including the noisiest ones.

Apple is currently testing the “Siri” voice command with several employees, but development could take many more months. Mark Gurman does not advance and speaks of a launch at the earliest in 2023, if not in 2024.

The Californian manufacturer would not stop there and would also be working to improve the integration of Siri with third-party applications and multiply the interactions made possible through the assistant.
