How ERP giant SAP is getting into generative AI

SAP announces new capabilities for its Datasphere solution, including new generative AI capabilities.

The heart of the announcements is based on a co-pilot and vector database pairing which preserves the business context in the results of generative AI. Additionally, new knowledge graphs help derive insights and models from complex data.

Joule, SAP’s generative AI assistant, is soon to be integrated with SAP Analytics Cloud to automate the creation and development of reports and dashboards. This is made possible by the capabilities of SAP HANA Cloud Vector. Vector capabilities combine the power of LLMs with organizational data to ensure the business context of generative AI responses remains constant.

Without reliable and managed data, it is impossible to integrate generative AI

But without reliable and managed data, it is impossible to integrate generative AI throughout the company, assures SAP. To provide organizations with a solution to manage AI policies, processes and practices, SAP is therefore announcing a partnership with Colibra to integrate Collibra’s AI governance platform with SAP products.
