What is the department where withdrawals affect the highest pension? Paris, with an average pension of 2046euros, gross! At the other end, the Doubs withdrawals are the most modest. Tour de France of average pensions.

Paris, Yvelines, Hauts-de-Seine, Essonne and Val-de-Marne: here, in order, the top 5 departments in the ranking of average pensioners according to the DREES. Gross pension, basic and supplementary pensions included, and without counting a possible survivor’s pension following the death of the spouse. This top 5 is unsurprisingly very close to the top 5 departments ranked by average resident salary.

And the other end? From the smallest average to the least weak: Doubs, Tarn-et-Garonne, Lot-et-Garonne, Mayenne and Aveyron. By publishing its annual study on the standard of living of retirees in France, in June 2023, the Research Department for Evaluation Studies and Statistics (DREES) reveals all average pensions, in gross.
