When the invitation arrives, we not only think about the perfect outfit, but also about the best wedding gift. Many wedding couples let it be known what they want, and in many cases that is: money. No wonder, such a wedding is usually very expensive and can be at least partially refinanced. In addition, some brides and grooms also dream of being able to use the money to pay for a honeymoon.

So if you want to finance a piece of an unforgettable honeymoon for the wedding couple, pull out your wallet. Now the question quickly arises: How much money do you give for a wedding?
The answer: That depends. Several factors play a role:
- Proximity to the bride and groom: Family or neighbor? Your connection to the potential spouses influences the amount of the monetary gift. Of course, it’s all about how close you really are. If you are related but only see each other once a year at Easter, the bond is probably not as strong as with a work colleague with whom you share your most intimate secrets.
- Type of wedding celebration: The celebration itself offers further guidance. A widespread rule of thumb is: A guest should give as much as the gift it costs the bride and groom. This can vary widely depending on the location and the tasting.
- Personal financial framework: The account is already at its limit and now you want to spend another 100 euros as a wedding present? Of course not, that’s obviously going too far. With all the love: Your own situation should not be left out when giving money as a gift.
