Provided of course that your employer accepts this buyout. But how to anticipate what you have to gain, in euros? Method and simulation for a net salary of 1500euros, 2000euros or 2500euros.

Have you just received your pay slip for the month of November? Do you have a lot of RTT left to ask and you know you won’t enjoy the set? The novelty of the year 2022 might interest you: you can ask for the monisation of your RTT, if you do not wish to ask them.

It is an exceptional and temporary measure of the purchasing power law which concerns the RTT from 2022 to 2025. Are the requests already jostling in the human resources departments? No, cuts Emmanuel Labrousse, director of the social-payroll service of Walter France, who explains it by the calendar of the final announcement: The minister’s questions/answers was published at the end of October at All Saints’ Day.

Employees will probably have to ask for the monetization at the end of the year, when the annual regulation of the RTT, he adds. Because the rule is clear: RTT days not available are theoretically lost. A rule that also applies to paid leave, which the employee must ask for, even if Emmanuel Labrousse recognizes the existence of agreements between employer and employee which sometimes make it possible to postpone these days of rest from one year to the next.

Which days of RTT to redeem?

Before delving into the calculations of your potential earnings on the December newsletter, check whether or not you have access to this increase. A monetization which is obviously not automatic, since it is subject to the agreement of the employer!

Then, do you really have mountable RTTs? every day of reduction of working time are concerned, of course, but do you have any RTTs? These are mainly employees with RTT within the meaning of the Aubry law: they are countries every 35 hours but work 36, 37 or 39 hours a week, explains Emmanuel Labrousse, from the network of chartered accountants Walter France. If they actually work 36 hours, they have 6 days of RTT, 12 days per year if they work 37 hours, 23 or 24 days if their contract provides for 39 hours per week, etc.

That excludes not only the overtime compensation rest daysbut also all employees whose contract provides for a annualization of working time, which makes it possible to predict periods of higher activity and others lower. Annualized employees may be used to talking about RTT but it is not really about RTT days, specifies Emmanuel Labrousse. They are not affected by monetization, any more than executives at the day package who already have their own system for rest days not taken. In the companies in which Emmanuel Labrousse works, he believes that the rise of RTT can potentially concern 15 to 20% of our customersand condition again that the employer accepts.

How many? Country days like overtime

If you do have RTT days and your employer agrees to buy them back, it will be at the applicable rate for your 1st overtime hour: in short 10% minimum increasebut much more often 25% as confirmed by Emmanuel Labrousse, of Walter France. And these hours of RTT thus bought back by your employer will be – like overtime – exempt from employee contributions and income tax, within the limit of 7500 euros. They stay the same submitted to CSG and CRDS.

For 5 days of RTT at Smic. You are paid the minimum wage, every 35 hours, or currently 1329.05 euros net monthly (gross hourly wage of 11.07 euros), and the overtime increase is at the legal minimum, 10%. For a week of 35 hours purchased, you will receive gross 426.20 euros, or (11.07 + 10%) X 35 hours.

And net of CSG and CRDS (9.7%)? After taking into account the 1.75% reduction on the taxable base (in other words the CSG-CRDS is calculated on 98.25% of the gross amount), you receive 385.58 euros netor 426.195 – (426.195 x 98.25% x 9.70%).

If you earn 1500euros net per month

Let’s apply the same calculation in different cases: first of all 5 days of RTT if you earn 1500 euros net.

  • If your overtime hours are increased by 10%: 488.18 euros before CSG and CRDS, i.e. 441.68 euros net for 5 days of country RTT with the minimum increase and exemption from tax and social security contributions.
  • If your overtime hours are increased by 25%: 554.59 euros before CSG and CRDS, i.e. 501.74 euros net.

If you earn 2000euros net per month

You receive precisely 2,000 euros net per month, which is very close to (but slightly higher than) the median salary, which is 1,957 euros net according to the latest data available. Clearly, when you are at the median salary level, about half of the employees earn more than you, and about half earn less.

  • If your overtime hours are increased by 10%: 648.37 euros before CSG and CRDS, 586.58 euros net for the redemption of 5 days of rest.
  • If your overtime hours are increased by 25%: 736.75 euros gross, for 666.54 euros net.

Salary: with 2000euros per month, how many French people earn more than you?

If you earn 2500euros net per month

For 2,500 euros net per month every 35 hours, your gross salary is theoretically 3,186 euros, or 21 euros per hour.

  • If your overtime hours are increased by 10%: 808.50 euros before CSG and CRDS, i.e. 731.45 euros net.
  • If your overtime hours are increased by 25%: 918.75 euros before CSG and CRDS, i.e. 831.19 euros net.

The formulas remember:

  • (Your gross hourly wage x 1.10) x bought back hours = gross monetization
  • Gross amount – (Gross amount x 0.0953) = what the takeover of RTT will bring you, net

For these examples, to find the hourly gross salary from the monthly net, we used the gross/net calculator provided by the Minister of Labor in partnership with Urssaf.
