How much will you get? A new official simulator put online

A new online simulator has been offered by the GIP Union Retraite since the beginning of November. Around twenty professions and professional statuses are concerned by this tool which makes it possible to obtain an estimate of the possible survivor’s pension to which the surviving spouse and/or the divorced spouse is potentially entitled.

The survivor’s pension corresponds to part of the retirement which the deceased insured person benefited from or could have benefited from. But the conditions for receiving it depend on a multitude of elements such as age, resources, duration of marriage, number of children, etc.

Around twenty professions and professional statuses are concerned by this tool which makes it possible to obtain an estimate of the possible survivor’s pension to which the surviving spouse and/or the divorced spouse is potentially entitled. So-called special schemes (EDF, SNCF, RATP, Banque de France, Paris Opera, etc.) and liberal professions (doctors, lawyers, dental surgeons, notaries, etc.) are also included in this simulator.

Simple limit, you will not be able to simulate the amount of the survivor’s pension if the person who dies has been married several times and if the person who dies was working.

A simplified request in July

If you have gone beyond the simulation stage, the survivor’s pension application has been simplified since July with only one request to make. Previously, you had to contact each affiliation scheme one by one. This free service is located on the official portal Info-retraite.fr in the Request my reversion section. You will then need to scan the following documents: copy of the applicant’s national identity card, the death certificate and the birth certificate of the spouse or ex-spouse, the family record book. Depending on the case, tax notices may also be requested.
