The year 2023 was marked by a happy event for the princely family of Monaco. Last April, Marie and Louis Ducruet, married for four years, welcomed their first child. At the age of 30, the young woman gave birth to a granddaughter named Victoire. Big news for the couple, but also for their loved ones, as the young dad confided in the columns of Point of view, the new issue of which appeared on newsstands this Wednesday, January 3. “It’s an immense emotion“, recognized Louis Ducruet, who recounted how he broke the news to his mother Stéphanie of Monaco. “We had just returned from a trip to the Dolomites where we celebrated our wedding anniversary. To tell him the big news, we stuck a photo of the ultrasound on the back of a pair of little slippers. It was madness!“, he recalled.
When she learned of the birth of her granddaughter, the princess immediatelyt rushed to the maternity ward to get to know him. “She came to the maternity ward the day after Victoire’s birth, accompanied by my father (Daniel Ducruet, editor’s note) and my paternal grandmother, as well as Marie’s mother. It was a magical moment I will never forget“, Victoire’s dad confided to our colleagues. During this interview, the young man also said more about the grandmother that is Stéphanie of Monaco : “She is very demanding and brings a lot of love to her granddaughter“, he explained, before adding: “On a daily basis, my mother has a busy schedule, but as soon as she can, she asks to keep Victoire (…) It’s touching to see how involved she is.“

As godfather and godmother for their daughter, the couple chose Michael Ducruet, the brother of Louis Ducruet, and Camille Gottlieb, the half-sister of Louis Ducruet, also very close to his wife Marie. When he learned the special and important role he would play with his niece, Michael Ducruet could not hide his emotion. “I was his best man at his wedding, he was mine.
