How this French GPS tracker also wants to save the lives of your pets

The Minitailz is a new GPS tracker launched by the French brand Invoxia, whose various sensors and patented technologies allow it to detect atrial fibrillation in dogs and cats. This is to better understand and anticipate the signs of heart disease. By 2024, artificial intelligence is at the heart of this system.

For 14 years now, the French brand Invoxia has been imagining and designing consumer and professional trackers, whether for our vehicles (car, electric bike), our valuable objects, or even our pets since the release of the Pet Tracker in 2018 and the Smart Dog Collar in 2022. For this year 2024, the French group is doing it again with a brand new product called Minitailz.

Presented as part of CES 2024, located in Las Vegas, this portable device is intended for dogs and cats. The main novelty put forward by the company aims to better analyze the health of these animals: Minitailz is in fact “ capable of detecting atrial fibrillation (AFib), a sign of heart disease in cats and an indicator in dogs», Writes the brand in an official press release.

From AI to the heart of the system

To do this, Invoxia has patented a technology called Heartprint Technology, which “performs heart health scans and retrieves biometric data to monitor respiratory and cardiac vital signs in dogs and, for the first time, cats, with 97% to 99% accuracy“. Please note that this technology is currently undergoing clinical testing with a view to validation.

Unsurprisingly, the big trend of 2023 – namely artificial intelligence – is at the heart of this system. The AI is thus capable of processing “sensor data to extract precise measurements of cardio-respiratory parameters and assess dog activity», explains Invoxia.

Then another AI “analyzes these metrics to detect possible anomalies or health problems“. Finally, artificial intelligence translates these metrics “in clear and understandable results for owners, ensuring easy understanding of the animal’s health status“. All this can be found in the application, which then provides medical assessments on sleep, food and even the heart.

Price and availability

The Minitailz does not forget to embody Invoxia’s historical know-how, namely real-time GPS tracking, coupled with detection of relatively varied activities: walks, races, daily games, car trips or even zoomies – those periods of random frenzied activity.

Weighing 37 grams, the device measures 5.9 cm long, 3 cm wide and 2.3 cm high, and features an adjustable ring mechanism to securely attaches to your pet. company. The announced autonomy is 15 days.

The Invoxia Minitailz has been available since January 7, 2024 in its version intended for dogs, compared to March 2024 for its iteration reserved for cats. The purchase price is 99 euros. Unfortunately, it does not include the subscription, billed at 129.95 euros per year or 199.95 euros for 24 months.
