Windows 11 will soon welcome a little new feature and it concerns the taskbar. An animation will now appear when you move from one window to another. A functionality that already existed since Windows 7, but which had been “forgotten” with Windows 11.
Microsoft continues to slowly but surely improve Windows 11. Sometimes, this involves details that seem insignificant, but in reality, it is the accumulation of these details that can change the perception we have of the OS. Improvement of the day concerns the tiles on the taskbar.
It is found in Build 26052 of Windows 11, reserved for Insiders. It provides a small animation that appears when you move from one thumbnail to another, or when you hover the mouse over the icons in the taskbar.
Windows 11 is getting better little by little with updates
This animation is not really new. Indeed, it has existed since… Windows 7. However, it was not present on Windows 11 for a very simple reason: Microsoft started the taskbar from scratch for its OS, thus abandoning some features. So she’s making her comeback. As Neowin shows, everything is not quite finished yet, since in dark mode, the displayed windows remain in light mode. Today, on Windows 11 “retail”, there is no such animation, since we move from one thumbnail to another abruptly.

Concerning the taskbar, Build 2052 brings another new feature. Now when you hover your mouse over the open File Explorer, the thumbnail shows how many tabs are open. Practical ! Small changes that will make life easier for the user.
They are not the only ones, this Build bringing a lot of things. For example, the management of color profiles is simpler and specific to each connected monitor, the Bluetooth tab displays the percentage of battery remaining in your peripheral and microphone management has been revised. But the biggest news is the appearance of the sudo command directly in Windows 11, an administrator command that Linux users know well.
Of course, these new features are currently reserved for Insiders, but they should arrive in the general public version of Windows 11 in the coming months.
