Sometimes I have to compose an email and send it later. In this case, if I use Gmail or Apple Mail, delayed sending is very simple. However, this option is not integrated into Thunderbird.
The Mozilla mail client being the one I use the most, it is very important for me to have this functionality. Here’s how to add it.
How to Add “Send Later” Feature to Thunderbird
Requirements
To add delayed send functionality to Thunderbird, you need a stable version of Thunderbird. It doesn’t matter which operating system you use, as the process is the same.
1. Open Thunderbird
The first thing to do is to open the Thunderbird mail client.
2. Open the Add-ons Manager
Click on the menu button (three horizontal lines in the upper right corner of the window), then select Add-ons and Themes.

6. Use the “Send later” option
Using the new function send later Is simple. Start an email and you will now see the button send later in the upper right corner of the composition window. Before clicking this button, first make sure you have composed the entire email.
When you’re done composing the email, click send later and a new window will appear where you can set the exact time to send the email and recurring options (if needed). If you opt for regular sending, you can define a time range, specific days or a period of several days for sending emails.

After configuring the time, click on the gray button associated with the exact time you set and the email will be saved and sent at the specified time.
You will also notice a few pimples send later pre-configured that make it easy to send the email in 15 minutes, 30 minutes or 2 hours.
