You are on an Apple computer, iMac or MacBook, so you noticed that the default browser is Safari. If you’re used to using Chrome or another, you might want to make it your new default browser. The operation is very simple and quick to perform, we will detail it below.
How to change the default browser on Mac?
Once you have installed your favorite browser on your Mac, you can follow the next procedure.
- Click on menu Apple and select System Preferences.
- In the window that appears choose General.
- Then click on the section Default browser and a drop-down menu appears with available browsers.
- Select the one that will become your default browser and close the window.
If you ever just installed the browser and it does not appear in the list. Launch it a first time and start the operation again. If it’s still not listed, restart your Mac and start this tutorial again from the beginning.
From now on, your default internet browser will no longer be Safari. Also, remember that you can set other default apps on macOS.
