The oven is one of the appliances we use the most on a daily basis. For roasting vegetables, cooking meat or even fish in foil, for browning cheese… It is very useful for many recipes. If you anticipate incorrectly, preparations may escape from the dishes or a rack and end up directly on the plates. With the heat, stains tend to become embedded and become very stubborn.
This is why it is advisable to clean your baking trays after each time in the oven to prevent stains from sticking, but this is not always possible. The technique for removing stains from an oven tray
@jeanne.zd offers a zero waste technique with only two ingredients. Inside the plate, “je put three teaspoons of baking soda and two teaspoons of percarbonate soda“, she says. Then just add hot water and scrub. Ideally, take a dishwashing brush. To be on the safe side, don’t hesitate to wear gloves as the percarbonate can be irritating for the skin.
Where to find sodium percarbonate?
Bicarbonate and percarbonate of soda are the allies of zero waste cleaning. You can buy them in the majority of supermarkets, but above all, you can find them in bulk in stores specialized for this type of purchase or in organic stores. Then simply store them in jars: you can keep them for several years.
How else to use percarbonate of soda?
If you have white clothes that have lost their shine from being washed, percarbonate will be your friend. It’s a great whitening agent: put two tablespoons of percarbonate of soda in hot water and immerse your white clothes in it. You have to leave everything for at least 1 hour and then you can wash them in the classic way in your washing machine.
It will also allow you to clean your toilet well. After mixing two tablespoons of percarbonate with a liter of hot water, pour the mixture into your toilet bowl and let it sit for 15 to 20 minutes. Then take the brush and rub as you would with your usual product.
