To find your way through your favorite videos – or those you intend to watch in the future – YouTube lets you create your own playlists.

Whether you want to create thematic playlists (by artist, by theme, etc.) for your daily use, collect videos to share with someone close to you, or create a tailor-made playlist for an event, you can do it directly from your smartphone.

To do this, all you need to do is have a smartphone equipped with the YouTube mobile application, log in to your Google account and follow the steps below.

Save an existing playlist or create a new playlist?

To enjoy playlists on YouTube, you have two ways:

  • You can save an existing playlist, which was created by someone else. It will appear in your account and will be accessible from anywhere, unless its creator deletes it – in which case it disappears for you too.
  • You can create a personal playlist.

In the first case, choose the playlist that interests you, click on the three dots located to the right of the thumbnail then click on Save to library. Then go to your account, in the section Playlists : The newly saved playlist will appear here along with your personal playlists.

If you prefer to create a personal playlist, follow the steps below.

1. Open the YouTube app

Open the YouTube app on your smartphone or tablet – or download it from the App Store or Play Store if you don’t have it yet.

Do you want to share your personal tutorials or see the latest movie trailers, clips of your favorite stars, special shows, and many other videos? You are in the right place.

4. Add videos to your playlist

Once you have selected Create a playlist, YouTube offers you a list of videos you have recently viewed. Select the videos you want to add to your newly created playlist by clicking the box to the right of the thumbnail.

Once you have made your selection, click Following in the upper right corner.

5. Name your new playlist

You can now name your new playlist and select the privacy measures that apply to it. If you choose Public, your playlist will be visible to everyone. If you choose a playlist Private, it will only be for your use and you will not be able to share it. If you want to be able to share it, but it can’t be found on YouTube, choose the option Not listed.

You can now enjoy your playlists and share them with anyone you want.
