So, everywhere on the net, DIY to make your own hydroalcoholic solution multiply and everyone agrees there … However, if there is one to favor, it is without hesitation that issued by theWorld Health Organization ((WHO) herself.

First of all, you should already know that this famous recipe is above all intended for health professionals who themselves have the opportunity to restock their stocks through this. Some pharmacies do, then it is possible for you to obtain them from these professionals – which will undoubtedly be the safest way to cope with the shortage. You guessed it, it is not recommended to embark on such an artisanal manufacture without the skills and the adequate equipment. If you still wish to do so, here is some indications to respect imperatively :

Each of the ingredients issued by theWHO must be handled with extreme care, meticulously respected dosages and the recipe in no way changed. As for the preparation obtained, it cannot be stored under any conditions: favor a dry place, protected from light, far from any heat source and above all: out of the reach of children.

The ingredients you will need to make a liter of product:

  • 833.3 ml ethanol (90 degree alcohol) –
  • 14.5 ml glycerol (or glycerin)
  • 41.7 ml hydrogen peroxide (hydrogen peroxide)

The WHO recipe:

Mix these three ingredients, being careful to respect the doses indicated above. Then add cooled boiled water to this preparation until you reach a liter of product. You can then divide this liter into several bottles, while noting that they should not not be used for the next three days.

Now that you have all the necessary information (recipe, alternatives, precautions to be taken, risks involved …) it is up to you to decide whether you want to finally get started or not. Above all, don't forget that in terms of effectiveness: the best precaution to take is that of wash your hands very regularly, preferably with Marseille soap!
