The first mobile game in history to have truly entered the esports landscape in Europe, Clash Royale is making a comeback in the spotlight, to say the least, unexpectedly at the start of 2022. Many top-notch streamers are once again getting down to business. under Supercell, and bring their large communities with them. All around us, friends and colleagues turn their phones back on and start CR games again. No doubt, the hype is back for the new year!
Only here it is: the game has changed somewhat over the years. Dusting off your account and coming out victorious in the arena is no small feat, with all these new maps and features. Don’t panic, we list the best tips to get back on track, and progress properly without putting your hand in the wallet.
Tip 1: don’t put your chests to sleep!
The free chests generated by your wins are your primary means of acquiring new cards. The golden rule is simple: you must always have a safe being unlocked.
Indeed, each chest requires the completion of a cooldown to be able to be opened. Common chests only take 3 hours, but some juicier chests take 8 hours or more. Make sure you always have a rotating chest. Take advantage of the end of the evening to open a Gold Chest (8h), so as not to “waste any rotation time” during the night, and to open your loot when you wake up.
Tip 2: don’t scatter
At the start of the game, gold flows freely and card upgrades are inexpensive. This will change quickly, so be careful with your investments! The safest is to concentrate on a single deck, or at a pinch on a single archetype (Log bait, Golem, Lavaloon …).
It is admittedly a bit monotonous around the edges, but it will guarantee you have cards of a much higher level than those of your opponents. Don’t waste gold trying to max out all the cards in your collection, as most of them will stay in the closet during your climb.
Tip 3: watch out for the store
The Clash Royale store changes daily, and offers cards for gold or green gems. Never spend your gems there to get cards! This last currency is too important and the offers of the store are not very advantageous.
However, some cards can be bought there for gold, but again, really favor cards from your played decks.
If you are an experienced player, playing Super Challenge is the best way to maximize your gems. Otherwise, you’d better wait to see THE legendary card you’re missing in the store. Only then can you snap your gems, because “targeted” legendaries are really hard to get from chests.
Finally, if you accumulate a lot of gems, the Legendary King’s Chests, in the store, can be good investments (2500 gems), because they contain a legendary guarantee.
Tip 4: check the weekly challenges
Original challenges will appear each week in the corresponding tab. The rewards are often very interesting there, and note that the first participation is often free ! Never pass up a free challenge, even if its gameplay appeals to you little.
Tip 5: one for all, all for the Clan
No need to relaunch Clash Royale if it is to play it solo. Joining a Clan is too important, and will provide you with abundant additional resources. Giving your useless cards for gold, asking for essentials, participating in Clan Wars … Functionality is, so to speak, Supercell’s hallmark, and the publisher gives serious advantages to those who are members of it. .
You don’t even have to join a group of friends, or a hyper-competitive clan. The main thing is to have a clan to easily receive rewards, which can only be obtained through this.
Tip 6: take advantage of Tokens and Jokers
If you haven’t played for a long time, some currencies may appeal to you. These are first and foremost Trade Tokens and Jokers.
- Trade Tokens allow you to trade cards with members of your Clan.
- Jokers simply allow you to improve the cards of your choice.

- Safe Key: Instantly open any safe
- Magic shield: instantly upgrades a card without spending gold.
