After a Season 2 with the Resistance as the spearhead, players are now entitled to a much more chill atmosphere in the battle royale. As always, with this change in atmosphere came a plethora of new content.
Among this long list of novelties, a new feature has come to upset the daily lives of players, allowing them to use wild animals as mounts to cross the island. It’s been a while since players had the ability to tame beasts, but this new mechanic opens up more opportunities.

How to use animals as mounts in Fortnite
Currently, only boars and wolves can be used to roam the island. To do this, you just have to jump on their back when you see one in the wild, and the rest will happen automatically, without having to press any button.
However, if you’re not careful when approaching them, they may charge at you. So the jump can be quite complicated to execute at first, but with a little practice, you will get there more easily.

Once you manage to approach an animal and ride on its back, you can still use your weapons and build as if nothing had happened. As you will have understood, they can be a game-changer when it comes to quickly moving on to the next circle.
Of course, after a while the animal will get tired and start to slow down, but this is not inevitable. When this happens, you can top it up with food like apples or cabbage.
Where to find Wolves and Boars in Fortnite
With such a large island, finding a wolf or boar can be as complex as finding a needle in a haystack. Nevertheless, if you know where to look, you can greatly increase your chances of finding one.
Especially since wolves and wild boars tend to prefer the areas that have remained in the wild between the different points of interest, and that they avoid the desert area to the south of the island.
