Generating realistic videos from textual instructions is an incredible new possibility offered by AI. Google recently unveiled Veo, a video generation tool that can bring your ideas to life. The tool is already available, but how to test it? We tell you everything.
After the photorealistic images that we now see everywhere on the Internet, videos created entirely by artificial intelligence will soon invade the web. A few weeks ago, OpenAI presented its tool called Sora which is the “ChatGPT video generation”.

Google’s response did not take too long: the company presented its new tool called Veo during the Google/io conference held in mid-May 2024.
Like Bard who is trying to steal the show from ChatGPT, Veo is in direct competition with OpenAI’s Sora tool.

The first demonstrations of Veo’s possibilities were made during this Google conference. We were able to discover some videos generated from text prompts, and in particular cinematic images of human characters.
Unlike Sora which is limited to one minute videos, Veo allows you to generate content that exceeds sixty seconds. It is also possible to associate an image or photo with the request in order to contextualize the output video.

How to test Veo before everyone else?
Following its conference, Google launched a “private beta” which allows it to test the potential of its AI. The tool is integrated into the suite VideoFX of the’AI Test Kitchenthe laboratory of the Mountain View firm which allows testing of all AI solutions in development at its subsidiary DeepMind
Veo is therefore not the final tool strictly speaking, but the name of the artificial intelligence which is at the heart of future generative video solutions at Google.
Two things should be noted about this testing phase. It is currently available in a few countries including France is not part. Moreover, it is not open to everyone. You have to register on a waiting list and then wait until a possible invitation from Google.
