hp: partnership for transparency in the private sector

(CercleFinance.com) – Microsoft today announced the launch of ISDP – Industry Data for Society Partnership – an initiative presented as a unique cross-industry partnership aimed at making private sector data more accessible and open, ‘for the good of the society ‘.

IDSP members – namely GitHub, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), LinkedIn, Microsoft, Northumbrian Water Group, R2 Factory and UK Power Networks – have agreed to provide greater access to their data to ‘help address some of the world’s most pressing challenges in areas such as sustainability and inclusive economic growth’.

‘Over the past few years, open data has played a vital role in enabling faster research and collaboration across industry and the public sector. As we have seen during COVID-19, open data on the pandemic has allowed researchers to progress more quickly ‘, points out for example Microsoft.

One of the aims of the IDSP will therefore be to extend this model to new areas in order to address other complex societal challenges. The IDSP will also foster collaboration between participating companies as well as serve as a resource for other entities working on related issues.
