HPI: “We dreamed of Jessica Chastain and Steve Carell”, Mehdi Nebbou reacts to the announcement of the American remake of the TF1 series

While season 3 of “HPI” continues this Thursday, June 15 on TF1, Mehdi Nebbou, the interpreter of Karadec, reacts for us to the announcement of the American remake in preparation and to the actors chosen to embody Morgane and Karadec US version.

On the strength of its undeniable success – 7.5 million followers were still gathered last Thursday watching episode 5 of season 3 on TF1 – HPI, which has been sold in 105 countries around the world, will soon have right to its remake in the United States. Just that.

As announced recently, the American channel ABC has ordered High Potential, an adaptation notably written and produced by Rob Thomas (Veronica Mars) and Drew Goddard (Buffy, Lost, The Cabin in the Woods).

To succeed Audrey Fleurot and Mehdi Nebbou, the production of High Potential has called on Kaitlin Olson, well known to Philadelphia fans, and Daniel Sunjata (The Devil Wears Prada, Grey’s Anatomy, Echos), who will thus lend their features to Morgan and Karadec. While Javicia Leslie (Batwoman), Judy Reyes (Scrubs, Devious Maids) and Deniz Akdeniz (The Flight Attendant) round out the cast.

“We are super honored” … Mehdi Nebbou reacts to the announcement of the remake of HPI

Met last March in Lille as part of the Series Mania Festival, Mehdi Nebbou, who plays Adam Karadec in the phenomenal TF1 series, confided in our microphone about the announcement of this American remake of HPI, which does not was then only in the pilot stage and had not yet been officially ordered to series by ABC.

“We dreamed of Jessica Chastain and Steve Carell (laughs)”admits with humor Mehdi Nebbou, before explaining that he does not really have an opinion on the casting of this adaptation since he does not really know the actors chosen.

“I don’t know these actors, I haven’t seen them in other films or series, so I don’t really have an opinion. But what is certain is that we are very honored that the Americans adapt our series”.

“I was curious to know who was going to take over the writing of this American adaptation, and we are still very flattered, because it is one of the authors of Lost. I am curious to see what it will give “continues the interpreter of Karadec, who also told us of his great regret about season 3 of HPI.

There is therefore no doubt that Mehdi Nebbou, like many others, will be there when the remake of HPI arrives on the air. The actor points out, however, that he would also have appreciated that the TF1 series was directly broadcast across the Atlantic, in a dubbed or subtitled version, without going through the remake box. A sweet utopia, when you know that few French fictions have the honors of being broadcast in the United States.

“We sometimes say to ourselves, ‘Why don’t they broadcast HPI by dubbing it or subtitling it?’, but hey, that’s beyond us. What matters is that the series appeals to so many people, it’s very surprising and at the same time very flattering”.

The broadcast of HPI continues this Thursday, June 15 at 9:10 p.m. on TF1 with episode 6 of season 3. And for the most impatient, the entire season is already available in advance on MyTF1 Max.
