HSV repairs two residues
Werder conceded the next bitter bankruptcy
On the 8th matchday of the 2nd Bundesliga, relegated SV Werder Bremen had to accept a very sensitive defeat, the brief upswing is finally over. Northern competitor Hamburger SV made up for a deficit twice, but still dropped two points.
Dynamo Dresden – SV Werder Bremen 3: 0 (1: 0)
Relegated Werder Bremen suffered the next setback in the 2nd Bundesliga. One week after the defeat in the north derby against Hamburger SV, the team of coach Markus Anfang lost to newly promoted SG Dynamo Dresden 0: 3 (0: 1). As a result, Werder fell back to tenth place in the table and had to let Dresden, without a win three times, overtake them. In front of 16,000 spectators, Christoph Daferner (40th / 66th minute) and Morris Schröter (75th) scored the Dynamo goals.
In a first half with little chance, Werder were the team with significantly more possession, but without dangerous finishes. After a corner (35th) and an alleged foul by Chris Löwe on Marvin Ducksch from Bremen, referee Robert Hartmann decided against a penalty after the video evidence. Dynamo countered five minutes later, Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer flicked the ball against the crossbar and Daferner dusted off.
As a result, the picture did not change. Werder controlled the game, Dresden scored the goal. After another counterattack, after an unfortunate defense by Mitchell Weiser, the ball jumped again at Daferner’s feet, who scored his fifth goal of the season. Almost in return, Werder had the chance to hit the next goal, but Niclas Füllkrug’s header (68th) hit the post. Instead, Dresden struck again when Schröter was simply not attacked with his shot.
Hamburger SV – 1. FC Nürnberg 2: 2 (0: 1)
With a show of strength, Hamburger SV prevented a severe setback. Robert Glatzel (34th / 80th minute) secured at least one point in the promotion battle for HSV with two remarkable goals in the 2: 2 (1: 1) match against 1. FC Nürnberg, who were still undefeated. However, like the FCN, HSV missed the possible jump to third place.
In front of 24,000 visitors in the Volksparkstadion, Enrico Valentini (22nd / foul penalty) and Lino Tempelmann (46th) put the strong guests in the lead twice. HSV coach Tim Walter replaced his suspended captain Sebastian Schonlau with Mario Vuskovic, who made an unfortunate starting XI debut. Because the 19-year-old Croat stopped Nikola Dovedan far away from the ball with his hands on his face – according to video evidence, there was rightly a penalty, which Valentini then used to lead. The HSV remained on the trigger: While the lively Sonny Kittel (15./25./37.) Had bad luck three times, Glatzel equalized with his fourth goal of the season, which was also checked.
After the change, it only took a few seconds before the unprotected temple man headed Valentini’s flank. It took HSV some time to concede this goal. Hannover 96 – SV Sandhausen 1: 2 (0: 0)
SV Sandhausen caused a surprise in the first game after coach Alois Schwartz returned. The table-16. won 2-1 (0-0) at Hannover 96. Immanuel Höhn (73rd) and Daniel Keita-Ruel (78th) punished two serious defensive errors by Lower Saxony within five minutes in front of 10,000 spectators. With the second goal conceded, 96 goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler made a serious mistake outside of his own penalty area. Dominik Kaiser only brought Hannover to 1: 2 in the 82nd minute.
The 54-year-old Schwartz had already trained the sand houses from 2013 to 2016. After three defeats in a row, he replaced the coaching duo Kleppinger / Kulovits last week and switched the team to five positions on his debut. Hanover was the superior team with the better chances. The guests were particularly lucky when Sebastian Ernst only hit the post (34th) and SVS defender Arne Sicker had to clear the goal line (45th + 2). But Sandhausen did not hide either and had a crossbar shot by Marcel Ritzmaier in the 30th minute.
