It is during the CES 2023 that the Taiwanese manufacturer unveiled the HTC VIVE XR Elite, a headset AR/VR aimed at competing with the Meta Quest Pro. You will also find everything you need to know about him in our complete file on the site or in our video Youtube.
The strength of Meta lies partly in its huge catalog of games and native applications (more than 400 to date) and PICO understood this well by strongly motivating developers to bring their games to the Store. A priori, it works well, because in a few weeks, its content has gone from almost nothing to just over 200 applications and games. So far, HTC did not seem motivated to feed its online store VIVEPORT for the VIVE Focus 3yet on sale for many months. The arrival of the HTC VIVE XR Elite therefore seems to have given wings to the manufacturer and the announcement of no less than a hundred games available at launch had caught our attention. We were waiting – with impatience – to see what would be on offer.
HTC has therefore just released a list of applications and games that will be available at launch, or shortly after. As you can see, if you are already used to the VRwe are here globally in front of ports from the catalog Meta – including a few must-haves – with exclusive titles, such as Hubrisbut not all equally good and motivating for buyers. That said, for a launch it looks promising, but the question is whether HTC will continue to push future studios on the VIVE XR Elite beyond this periodknowing that the baby still costs almost 1,400 euros and that it should not be sold en masse. Of course, there will never be the many exclusives of Meta as Beat Saber, POPULATION: ONE or Marvel’s Iron Man VR recently released. However, given that headset is still dedicated PC VR first of all, nothing will prevent you from launching these titles with your PC.

Admittedly, this choice can make purebred gamers smile, but it is particularly well thought out on the part of HTC since his headset is aimed at a much wider audience.
