After a mid-range but nevertheless expensive Nova 9, Huawei is now offering its smartphone in a more affordable “special edition”. Its Nova 9 SE will have the mission of seducing the youngest from the beginning of April.
Huawei persists and signs. After a P50 series including a folding version called Pocket, but also a Nova 9 occupying the mid-range segment, the Chinese brand is betting on a Nova 9 SE – it’s the season for SE smartphones – to get back on its feet. With this even more affordable device, she intends to seduce a less fortunate target, and especially a younger one.
The smartphone looks just like the Nova 9. But on closer inspection, it is a little larger (164.64 x 75.55 x 7.94 mm for 191 grams), due to its larger screen. big. On a diagonal of 6.78 inches, it displays 2,388 x 1,080 pixels, with a refresh rate of 90 Hz. This display swaps the Oled technology of the Nova 9 for an LCD panel, which is probably less energy-consuming, and loses its curved edges. In the radius of the changes, we note the use of a Snapdragon 680 chip (replacing the Snapdragon 778) with a 4G modem, as well as a 6 GB RAM and 128 GB of storage. On the photo side, the Nova 9 SE offers a main sensor of 108 megapixels (wide-angle f / 1.9), instead of that of 50 megapixels of the Nova 9. It remains accompanied by an ultra wide-angle of 8 megapixels and two 2-megapixel sensors (macro and depth). Last change to note, its battery remains compatible with the load at 66 W, but is satisfied with a capacity of 4000 mAh.
Harmony OS is still not out on the French market. It is therefore an open-source Android smartphone, with the Emotion UI 13 interface, that Huawei delivers. The manufacturer relies on a growing AppGallery portal, on its in-house services, but also on the interactions between its smartphones and its other devices (PC, headphones, watches) to seduce. If this is your case, you will have to pay €349 from April 7. Remember all the same that over the price reductions, the Nova 9 saw its price stabilize around 400 €.
