With the MateBook E (2022), Huawei has launched a 2-in-1 tablet that scores particularly well with its excellent display. Those are the details.
The Huawei MateBook E at a glance
The Huawei MateBook E scores in the test with a very good OLED display, which can even set the best value in the comparison: The display not only covers the standard color space, but also the extended DCI-P3 color space. Even the Adobe color space is reached to 98.3 percent. The MateBook E could therefore also be worth a closer look for creative people.
The other rates are good to average: The performance of the Intel Core i5-1130G7 processor is good and, in addition to typical office tasks, is just about suitable for professional image editing. However, the device could be too weak for high-resolution video editing.
Huawei has saved on connections, because apart from USB-C (with Thunderbolt 4) and an audio jack, there are no device interfaces. Transmission is via Bluetooth 5.1. and WiFi 6. It’s a shame that the pen isn’t included in the scope of delivery.
Our verdict at the time of testing
“The 2022 variant of the Huawei MateBook E is particularly impressive in the test with its OLED display. It provides a wide range of colors as well as high sharpness and is equally suitable for office applications, films and media editing. The same applies to the performance. With the Intel Core i5, the MateBook E 2022 does well in the test, but without setting new standards. There is criticism on the one hand for the lack of any interfaces apart from USB-C and audio and on the other hand for the stability of the dock. The tablet slides out too easily here.“
