Huawei has new True-Wireless headphones with active noise reduction in store for us: the FreeBuds Pro 2. This is what we learned on June 15 from the very knowledgeable Roland Quandt, journalist for the German site WinFuture. In addition to numerous visuals, the interested party details the essentials of what you need to know about these new Freebuds, co-signed by Devialet. The French audio specialist, known for its high-end solutions, has collaborated with Huawei to adjust the audio experience offered by these FreeBuds Pro 2 and by software tuning their integrated speakers.

It’s the first time the two companies have worked together on a pair of headphones, points out Roland Quandt, who adds that the FreeBuds Pro 2 will have two built-in speakers. A novelty here too for Huawei, which until now was satisfied with a single driver for its previous wireless headphones. We do not know, however, at this stage, what the size of these drivers on the FreeBuds Pro 2.

Strong active noise reduction

One of Huawei’s main arguments with the FreeBuds Pro 2 is active noise reduction. The Chinese manufacturer mentions a three-level ANC that can reduce noise up to 47 decibels, but also the presence of three microphones and AI algorithms allowing a dynamically adjusted audio experience (including through a Triple Adaptive Equalizer). If Huawei’s statements are confirmed in terms of ANC, it would be the most effective noise reduction ever offered by the brand on True-Wireless headphones.

In terms of sound itself, the FreeBuds Pro 2 would be able to cover frequencies between 14 and 48,000 hertz. Particularly deep bass is therefore promised, as well as Hi-Res Audio support.

Expected in three colors (blue-silver, ceramic white and frosted silver), the FreeBuds Pro 2 should be positioned at 199 euros. They will offer up to 6:30 hours of autonomy on the headphones, without activating the ANC. Their case will allow for up to 30 hours of autonomy. Finally, we learn that Huawei’s new headphones will benefit from IP54 certification, ensuring them resistance to splashes and sweat.
