On the sidelines of MateBook X Pro and MateBook E
Huawei also took advantage of its visit to the MWC to announce its MateStation X. This all-in-one PC aims to counter the Apple iMac with an XXL screen and a processor
High performance AMD Ryzen.
A very attractive all-in-one, at least at first glance. This is what Huawei had in store for us with its MateStation X. This new All-in-One PC promises to be a high-end product that does not fall into easy compromise. The device relies in particular on a design inspired by the MateView monitor, with a sandblasted and CNC machined aluminum alloy frame, but also on a large 28.2-inch Ultra HD + touchscreen LCD panel.
A large 4K screen… to adorn an already very elegant PC
Available in two colors (Space Gray and Mystic Silver), this AIO intends to make an impression with its display quality. Its 3:2 screen occupies 92% of the available surface but can also count on 98% coverage of the DCI-P3 spectrum and a DeltaE of less than 1.
There is also a DisplayHDR 400 certification, with a maximum luminance announced at 500 nits. For the moment, however, Huawei remains discreet on the question of contrast, which is not specified in its press release.
A machine armed by AMD
Behind this large slab hides an AMD Ryzen 7 5800H processor (8 cores / 16 threads). It is a high-performance mobile APU, initially designed for Laptops … and which is actually found on many gaming laptops marketed in 2021. We will nevertheless argue that Huawei could have made the effort to to offer an AMD Ryzen 6000 H processor. This new generation of chips is nevertheless very recent: it was announced at CES 2022, last January.
Anyway, the MateStation X is equipped for the rest with 16 GB of RAM (in DDR4) and 512 GB or 1 TB of M.2 SSD. The device will be offered at a price of 2199 euros in its version coupling 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of SSD.
