The South Korean manufacturer Samsung is working on a camera sensor for mobile phones that is supposed to offer a resolution of 200 megapixels. The company now impressively shows in a video what is possible with this number of pixels.
There, the development team photographs a cat with the sensor and prints the photo on a canvas. At 616 square meters, this is one and a half times the size of a basketball court. Nevertheless, the picture appears rich in detail and sharp.
However, it must also be said that Samsung does not take the photo with a mobile phone, but the sensor is connected to the lens of a single-lens reflex camera. It will probably be some time before we see the sensor in a Samsung cell phone. The developers are currently still working on its optimization. A launch together with the Galaxy S23 next spring is conceivable.
