The coronation concert at Windsor Castle has found its moderator. “Paddington” star Hugh Bonneville will announce the music stars.

“Paddington” star Hugh Bonneville (59) is looking forward to his new role: the actor will host the coronation concert. This was announced by the “BBC”.. The Windsor Castle event takes place on May 7th, the day after the coronation of King Charles III. (74) in Westminster Abbey. Bonneville, who became known for the series “Downton Abbey” and the “Paddington” films, will then announce stars such as Take That, Lionel Richie (73) and Katy Perry (38).

According to British media reports, Bonneville’s task at the concert can be seen as a tribute to Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022), who died in September. She had shown up with Paddington to celebrate her platinum anniversary in June 2022. For this, the monarch had shot a comedy sketch with the famous character. Bonneville also joined Queen Consort Camilla, 75, in November to donate some of the Paddington stuffed animals that were laid down in her memory after the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

“A night to remember”

Commenting on his engagement at the Coronation Concert, Hugh Bonneville said: “I am delighted to be a part of this unique event celebrating the finest in musical entertainment in honor of His Majesty’s Coronation.” He added: “Very British style, come rain or shine it’s going to be a night to remember.”
