Margaret Qualley is taking on a special role for one series and will play Amanda Knox, known as the “Ice-Eyed Angel.”
Margaret Qualley (29) will play Amanda Knox (36) for a series. The American gained fame through a spectacular murder trial in Italy. In 2009, a court convicted her as the perpetrator of the murder of her fellow student Meredith Kercher, and she was imprisoned for four years. Because of her penetrating gaze, the media dubbed her the “Angel with Ice Eyes.” In 2015, she was acquitted in the final instance after an appeal hearing.
In the Hulu-commissioned miniseries, the According to Deadline, which consists of eight one-hour episodes, it follows Knox’s path to her release. Behind the project is producer and writer KJ Steinberg (“This Is Us”), who will also serve as executive producer.
Amanda Knox and her case in book, documentary and film
Amanda Knox now works as an author; in 2013 she published her book “Time to be heard”. Her case was widely discussed in the media. In 2016, Netflix devoted itself to the trial in the documentary “Amanda Knox,” and in 2011 it was also made into a film with “Amanda Knox: Murder on Trial in Italy.”
Margaret Qualley is the third and youngest child of actress Andie MacDowell (65) from her first marriage to Paul Qualley and has been married to music producer Jack Antonoff (39) since 2023. So far she has played in the series “The Leftovers”, in the miniseries “Maid” or in films such as Quentin Tarantino’s (60) “Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood” and “Poor Things” by Giorgos Lanthimos (50) .
