Humanity: temporary demo and release date for this weird game where you lead crowds towards the light with a Shiba Inu

Might as well admit it, Humanity already looked very weird when it was revealed in 2019. The first game of that Ltd.developed in collaboration with Enhance Games (Ground Infinite, Tetris Effecthas just been remounted on the occasion of the last State of Play in order to clarify its concept, which does not make it less strange.

He will make us so embody a Shiba Inu in a world where the relationship between dogs and humans has been reversed. Our canine hero will have to guide a crowd of people towards the light as part ofEvents, levels with obstacles and puzzles of increasing difficulty and number of people, while a convoluted scenario will unravel as we progress. And if you like the principle, you can extend the fun beyond the campaign by creating and sharing your own levels.

In a world where humanity is lost, without soul, without intellect, without will of its own, its destiny depends on the brains and the determination of a unique savior, you.

…oh, did I tell you you were a Shiba Inu?

“One day, when I woke up, I was a dog…”

Shiba Inus are Japan’s most popular dog breed. Their innocent looks and loyal personalities have won the hearts of an entire nation since time immemorial, so Japanese people are often seen walking their Shiba Inus around town or in parks across the country.

However, in this world, the relationship between humans and dogs has been reversed. Discover the world of Humanity.

Gameplay

With the end of the world, people have lost their reason for being. You wake up as a dog and must lead people to columns of light through Trials (i.e. levels).

With a simple bark, you give orders to your humans, which they will blindly obey despite the necessary sacrifices. You can show them which way to go, ask them to jump, make them fly through the air and even make them fight their enemies.

Each Trial has its share of traps and obstacles based on water or wind, mountains or valleys, but also switches to activate and objects to move. Each of these affects or limits people’s actions, together forming a series of daunting puzzles.

To overcome the Trials and guide the humans, you will have to rely on your brains or your reflexes, and sometimes even both. Also, you may be hampered by the number of people to complete your goal, with the level literally filling up with humans. Managing this crowd in real time is one of the most interesting and rewarding parts of Humanity’s gameplay.

Script

What awaits you at the end of the Trials is… unusual to say the least. We’d like you to play the game to experience the story, but we’re still revealing one element to satisfy your curiosity.

Here are the Others.

Although similar in appearance to humans, they do not follow the same principles.

However, Others and people have common interests, which put them in competition with each other…

Will you try to avoid any conflict with the Others, or will you take a more frontal approach?

In its early levels, Humanity seems like a rather peaceful action-puzzle game, but as you progress through the story, you’ll have to fight large-scale battles. This gameplay evolution is just one of the things we hope you’ll enjoy.

Level Editor / User Levels

Humanity’s Level Editor lets you create your own levels and share them with players around the world.

Although easy to use, the Level Editor offers great creative freedom. It offers almost the same experience that we had as developers when we created the levels of the game!

Don’t forget to share your unique creations with the world. We can’t wait to see what you come up with and how far your skills and creativity will take you!
