2023 is definitely a very dark year for the video game industry. After Digital Bros, Amazon Games and Digital Extremes just this week, it is the turn of Humble Games to announce a series of layoffs.
Indeed, as part of an economic restructuring, several job closures have taken place in the company, although the exact number of employees affected has not been revealed.
An announcement confirmed by the studio in the columns of Game Developer, but which had already spread on Linkedin when employees concerned explained that they had just been laid off. This is particularly the case for the former production launch manager who saw his position deleted and shared it on the network.

This wave of layoffs is already Humble Games’ second in two years. In April 2022, the company had indeed eliminated several positions in its e-commerce division.
