Hundreds of Twitter employees leave the company after Elon Musk’s ultimatum

Elon Musk had issued an ultimatum to Twitter employees: work “full” or leave. The employees had until Thursday evening to give their answer, failing which they will be dismissed. If there are no precise figures on the number of departures, hundreds of employees say goodbye on the internal messaging system.

The chaos continues at Twitter. Employees had until Thursday evening to respond to the ultimatum issued by Elon Musk: give themselves “fully” for the company, or leave with compensation corresponding to three months’ salary. If there are no precise figures, it is a massive departure of employees that is emerging.

Hundreds of employees leave

Hundreds of employees say goodbye to each other or write parting words on the internal mailbox. A former Twitter executive speaks of a mass exodus. Many employees have therefore decided to leave, not to participate in the revolutionary Twitter 2.0 promised by Elon Musk. The new boss who spent part of the day meeting with employees, deemed essential, to convince them not to leave the company. Because in recent weeks, the most talented engineers are leaving one after the other.

Sign of the confusion, in the evening, the management informed the employees that the premises of Twitter will be closed this Friday. Access badges will be deactivated and the reopening is only scheduled for Monday morning. The question that arises today: how will Twitter work in the coming weeks after this new haemorrhage of employees?
