Hunger Games returns to cinemas: where to catch up on streaming films before seeing The Ballad of the Serpent and the Mockingbird?

Before returning to experience the Hunger Games in the cinema from November 15, why not (re)watch the first quadrilogy in streaming?

The Games of Atonement will resume. On November 15, spectators are invited to go to theaters to discover the Hunger Games prequel, entitled The Ballad of the Serpent and the Songbird.

In this new installment focused on President Snow’s youth, Coriolanus (Tom Blyth) is the last hope of his lineage which has fallen from grace in a post-war Capitol. As the 10th HUNGER GAMES approaches, he is reluctantly assigned to mentor Lucy Gray Baird (Rachel Zegler), a tribute from District 12, the poorest and most despised of Panem.

The charm of Lucy Gray having captivated the public, Snow sees the opportunity to change her destiny, and will join forces with her to tip fate in their favor…

Adapted from the novel by Suzanne Collins published in 2020, The Ballad of the Serpent and the Songbird is directly linked to the quadrilogy which revealed Jennifer Lawrence. If it is not really necessary to see the first films to understand the prequel, it is however full of references and winks.

This is therefore an opportunity for newbies to treat themselves to a little catch-up session and finally get to know the volcanic Katniss Everdeen.

Where to watch streaming?

Currently, the four Hunger Games films are only available for streaming on Prime Video (for purchase or rental too, by the way). This film saga was a huge success for Lionsgate and Metropolitan studios.

To give some figures, the first part released in 2012 allowed them to win 694 million dollars in revenue for a budget of 78 million!

It remains to be seen whether this prequel, which is already breaking a first record, will meet the same success. Result in a few days/weeks.
