Hunger Games, the prequel: Peter Dinklage and Viola Davis invite us to join the elite of Panem in a new video

Hunger Games: The Ballad of the Serpent and the Songbird has released a new trailer. This prequel to the saga (led by Jennifer Lawrence in 4 films) is expected for November 15 at the cinema.

Eight years after the release of the final episode Hunger Games – Mockingjay: Part 2, the dystopian saga adapted from the novels by Suzanne Collins is about to return to the big screen with the release this fall of The Ballad of the Serpent and the songbird.

After a long trailer unveiled last April, the film directed by Francis Lawrence reveals new images. The different protagonists are brought together in a kind of advertisement for the Academy of Panem. Its eminent members address the spectators in front of the camera to convince us to join it, “for the glory of Panem.”

British comedian Tom Blyth, already seen in the Billy the Kid series, slips into the costume of young Coriolanus Snow, a role played by Donald Sutherland in the original saga.

Multi-award-winning actress Viola Davis stars as the cruel Doctor Volumnia Gaul, the creator of the games for the 10th edition of The Hunger Games. For his part, Peter Dinklage, famous Tyrion Lannister in Game of Thrones, embodies Casca Highbottom, the dean of the Academy.

Rachel Zegler, revealed in Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story and upcoming live-action Disney movie Snow White, lends her features to Lucy, while Hunter Schafer (Jules in Euphoria) is Tigris Snow. Jason Schwartzman is Lucretius Flickerman, the host of the Games and ancestor of Caesar Flickerman (Stanley Tucci).

This prequel is directed by Francis Lawrence, to whom we owe the last three films of the Hunger Games franchise. In 4 feature films, the post-apo saga for teens has earned nearly 3 billion dollars at the international box office. Release scheduled for November 15, 2023.
