Making France the leader in carbon-free hydrogen by 2030 is the government’s objective. This Wednesday, Prime Minister Élisabeth Borne is going to Venette in the Oise to discuss the French hydrogen sector on the site of Plastic Omnium, the world number one in fuel tanks and which has been interested in this energy since 2015. In reality, the main difficulty with hydrogen is that it is very bulky and complicated to store. This is why building adapted reservoirs could be a solution.

A company of the future in hydrogen

Precisely, in 2020, Plastic Omnium co-created a combustion cell company to go in this direction. The company was even selected this summer by the European Commission as a project for the future in hydrogen. Elisabeth Borne therefore arrived on the site. The Prime Minister should make announcements in hydrogen because this Wednesday is a bit of an appointment for this energy. Indeed, many players in the sector are present, in particular EDF and Engie. It should be remembered that Emmanuel Macron has made hydrogen one of the five sectors of the future in France, with nearly 9 billion euros of investment, 7 billion provided for in the recovery plan and 2 billion provided for in the plan.
