HYDROGEN REFUELING SOLUTIONS (HRS): HRS AND ENGIE SOLUTIONS FORGE A COMMERCIAL AND TECHNOLOGICAL PARTNERSHIP TO DEVELOP HYDROGEN MOBILITY – 2022-12-22 at 19:05

HRS AND ENGIE SOLUTIONS FORGE A COMMERCIAL AND TECHNOLOGICAL PARTNERSHIP TO DEVELOP

HYDROGEN MOBILITY

  • HRS and ENGIE Solutions have set a goal to jointly develop 15 hydrogen projects between 2022 and 2026

  • First order for a station confirmed and 3 additional stations planned by 2024

Champ-sur-Drac, December 22, 2022 – HRS, designer and manufacturer, European leader in hydrogen refueling stations

and

ENGIE Solutions, one of the leaders in the energy transition in France, committed to the development of hydrogen,

announce that they are combining their know-how to accelerate the construction

hydrogen-related projects

with a target of 15 projects by 2026, including 4 by 2024, primarily for carbon-free mobility ecosystems.

Committed to innovative strategies for the territorial development of the hydrogen sector and having already collaborated on several successful projects, in particular HyGO in Vannes, Zero Emission Valley in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes or SYDEV in Vendée,

ENGIE Solutions

and

HRS

take a new step by formalizing a founding strategic partnership for hydrogen mobility which will extend until 2026.

This major agreement will make it possible to share the complementary industrial know-how of the two partners in order to respond effectively and quickly to the needs of public and private players in terms of hydrogen infrastructure.

ENGIE Solutions

and

HRS

thus confirm their strong involvement in the development of an innovative and competitive French hydrogen mobility sector.

DEVELOPMENT OF COMMON SOLUTIONS WITH HIGH CAPACITY TO ADDRESS

THE HYDROGEN MOBILITY MARKET

The objective of the partners is to create an offer of hydrogen refueling stations adapted to the needs of

ENGIE Solutions

, which could in particular take the form of a new range of products. Initially, a modular architecture depending on the project will be considered, while aiming for the standardization of solutions, then a move upmarket, moving from units of several hundred kg / day of capacity to quickly 1 ton / day then 2 tons / day, due to the increasing intensity of needs and the significant focus of partners on heavy mobility.

These solutions will be integrated into ecosystems that may include different elements, such as the production and supply of hydrogen, the hydrogen distribution station (fuel station, multi-use), the scalability of the stations or the setting up automobile and/or heavy mobility fuel cell fleets.

TOWARDS THE ACCELERATION OF HYDROGEN ECOSYSTEMS WITH A GOAL OF 15 JOINT PROJECTS BY 2026

In addition, the partners will work together to develop hydrogen mobility ecosystem projects, focusing primarily on heavy mobility, captive fleets and fuel-consuming off-road vehicles. The partners will also pool resources in order to facilitate the development of projects and improve the quality of the operation of the infrastructures and of the service provided to user customers.

The shared ambition of

HRS

and

ENGIE Solutions

is to accelerate the penetration of their joint solutions with a target of 15 projects to be developed within the framework of the partnership, including 4 projects by the end of 2024.

CONTROL OF AN HRS 200 STATION

As part of these joint projects,

ENGIE Solutions

placed the order for a first hydrogen refueling station. This first station associated with the growing production capacity of

HRS

will enable rapid deployment of the first projects identified by the partners.

Hassen Rachedi, CEO of HRS

comments:

It is a strategic agreement with a major international energy player. We are proud to participate alongside ENGIE in the development of the French hydrogen sector. The deployment of large-capacity, available and reliable hydrogen infrastructures is a major challenge of our decade and henceforth requires large-scale deployment actions. By addressing captive fleets for intensive use or heavy mobility, our joint projects will allow the democratization of hydrogen mobility in a sector that is difficult to “electrify” towards electric batteries. Our joint successes of the last few months are paving the way for a collaboration that will accelerate the deployment of one of the first hydrogen ecosystems in the world.

François-Xavier de Froment, Sustainable Mobility Director ENGIE

highlighted :

“This partnership is perfectly in line with ENGIE’s strategy to industrialize the development of the French hydrogen sector by working upstream of projects with the main players in the sector, in particular the suppliers of electrolysers and hydrogen distribution stations. hydrogen, with the aim of making costs and project completion times more reliable in order to offer our customers and partners efficient and reliable infrastructures. This partnership is built on the basis of projects already carried out jointly. We are very enthusiastic about the idea of making our collaboration fruitful to develop long-term projects.
