ASUS understands this well and beyond the release of ROG Ally last summer, the company is listening to its community as much as to the improvements made by AMD on its hardware.
HYPR-RX now on ROG Ally
A few weeks ago, AMD deployed the HYPR-RX technology that had been promised for several months. Integrated into the graphics drivers of the latest Radeon RX and RDNA 3-based APUs, HYPR-RX simplifies the use of other AMD technologies.
Through a simple button in the Adrenalin driver options, it is possible to activate Super Resolution, Anti-Lag and Boost technologies to benefit from better performance while gaining fluidity and speed of execution. Good news, ASUS was quick to make the thing also available on the ROG Ally.
Just for good measure, the console’s BIOS was upgraded to version 331 in order, in particular, to improve the general stability of the machine, and ASUS updated the MCU and Aura Plugin via the Armory Crate SE software.

If there were to be a “criticism” to be made, it is that the updates come in all directions: the BIOS on one side, the console management software on the other. , but also the graphics drivers.
However, we would be wrong to complain, because the integration of new graphics drivers is always eagerly awaited on devices of this type, which are not necessarily updated as quickly as dedicated graphics cards. In this case, the iGPU drivers 31.1.22017.3004 bring very important improvements… in addition to the HYPR-RX option of course.
It is thus a question of correcting two major bugs which purely and simply prevented the launch of the games EA Sports FC 24 And Resident Evil Village from the ROG Ally. In addition, a bug preventing ROG Ally from recognizing 8K monitors is fixed while the 1600 x 900 definition is now supported, to make a sort of transition between 720p and 1080p.
While waiting for our test of the “Z1” version of the ROG Ally, here is excellent news from ASUS, even if this requires us to redo certain measurements, obviously!
