The Ioniq 5 vintage 2023 now has a 77.4 kWh battery and offers more than 500 km of autonomy. A new load preconditioning system and mirror cameras are also part of the new features.

Buyers who are tempted by a Hyundai Ioniq 5 from this new vintage will have the chance to enjoy extended autonomy. Indeed, the manufacturer has announced that the battery capacity of its SUV will increase from 72.6 to 77.4 kWh. The two-wheel drive version is capable of covering 507 km in the WLTP mixed cycle. The South Korean brand specifies that the average consumption of 17 kWh/100 km was recorded with a vehicle fitted with 19-inch rims. With a diameter of 20 inches in two-wheel drive, the range drops to 476 km.

Equipped with this new battery, the Ioniq 5 can run for 481 km in the WLTP combined cycle in the twin-motor version, still with 19-inch rims, and is given for 454 km with 20-inch rims.

The Ioniq 5 vintage 2023 is also enriched with a battery preconditioning system which automatically adjusts the temperature while driving, in order to offer optimal charging conditions. The device is activated as soon as the driver enters a charging station in the navigation system with connected guidance.

Other new features that will benefit the Ioniq 5: digital side and central mirrors (DSM). Already available on models in Korea, this function will be a first in Europe on a vehicle from the Hyundai Motor group. According to the manufacturer, DSM mirrors reduce air resistance and provide better visibility, even in bad weather.

Added to this is a new suspension system called Smart Frequency Dampers (SFD), capable of optimizing the responsiveness of the front and rear suspensions. The SFD system adjusts and distributes damping forces according to the frequency of road stresses. When this is high, the damping forces are reduced, thus providing more flexibility. Conversely, when the frequency is lower, the damping forces are maintained at a constant rate, so as to optimize handling and body control.
