A number of "IBES" fans were disappointed with the "jungle show". What Sonja Zietlow and Daniel Hartwich have to say about the criticism.

After 15 days, "I'm a Star – The Great Jungle Show" (RTL, TVNow) knows a winner: Reality TV star Filip Pavlovic (26) will travel to the jungle camp in Australia in 2022. Whether Sonja Zietlow (52) and Daniel Hartwich (42) are satisfied with this year's replacement format, recorded in Hürth near Cologne? Obviously: "I really enjoyed it," said the 42-year-old after the final on Friday evening. "The show was more jungle than I would honestly have suspected beforehand."

Zietlow agreed with her co-host. She too "had to keep reminding herself" – especially during the exams – that the broadcast was only a preliminary stage of the actual jungle. "It looked pretty real," Hartwich continued.

Jungle in Germany: That was not the intention

To the original "I'm a star – Get me out of here!" "The Great Jungle Show" didn't come close. The moderators seem to be well aware of this, but criticism is not appropriate. "We heard that there were people who were a bit disappointed. Who might have hoped for more," said Hartwich. He wanted to call out to all of them: "That's just how it is when you do the jungle in Germany." In his opinion, the result was "really great".

Moderator Zietlow continued the explanation: "We didn't try to make the jungle in Germany either. We just tried to bring some entertainment into the dreary living room during this difficult time."
