It’s been a little over 48 hours since the pretty Eve Gilles, Miss Nord–Pas-de-Calais 2023, was elected Miss France 2024 against thirty other candidates, each as pretty as the next, on the stage of the Zénith de Dijon. An election which has already caused a lot of noise and for good reason several subjects come up again, the short haircut of our Miss, the odious comments of certain Internet users, as well as the different outcome of the ranking if only the viewers had voted.
However, the young girl, sunny, does not let herself be intimidated by all that, present on the set of BFMTV To talk about her coronation, she spoke about her first days as Miss France 2024. “ It really went from shadow to light» she asserts in front of journalists before adding: “For the moment, I’m having a great time. I am very well supported. The Miss France company pampers me. I joined a new family.» A real dream for the 20-year-old girl who has a good head on her shoulders: “I’ve dreamed of it since I was little. The Miss show, I always loved that.»

A contested coronation on which Eve Gilles returns
A second-year mathematics and computer science degree student, Eve Gilles was able to stand out from her competitors, not only thanks to her short haircut, but also for her strong values of feminine diversity that she was able to transmit during her journey in the competition. : “I would like to show that diversity is not only achieved through physical appearance. It is done through everything we can think of: profession, passion… There is a whole universe around it. These are topics that I want to discuss with the Miss France company» she explains on BFMTV. She then adds that the Miss France competition has always embodied for her what she wants to be: “a strong woman (…) warrior, who is afraid of nothing and says what she thinks even if it doesn’t always please. You can’t please everyone. And I accept the criticism.»
A way for the 20-year-old girl to respond to the numerous criticisms and odious comments to which she has been subjected since her coronation on social networks: “I prefer to ignore hate messages for the moment. Everyone has a say“. She knows it, the Miss France competition is every year the target of “endless reviews“, because the “People love watching Miss France so they can give their opinion and criticize each girl on the prime.» But they are wrong, Miss France is not just about a physique for the young woman nor a haircut: “I don’t look at the hateful comments, because for them it’s only the physical (that counts). The Miss France competition is not just about looks! Yes, it’s a competition that takes it into account. We all know it. But it’s not just that.»
Her election was proof of this for the young girl: “For me, I am not the most beautiful woman in France, but I was elected“, she explains before continuing “Ok, I was third by the public, but that’s already honorable. I am already very happy. But first by a jury of women diverse in their profession and their opinions.
