I.Ceram, specialist in innovative biocompatible ceramic implants, announces the first placement of a sternum in Vienna at the Medical University of Vienna. This operation was performed on November 16, 2022 by Dr. José Matilla, cardiovascular surgeon.
Instead of an invasive solution, poorly suited to the bone destruction of his 71-year-old patient who had undergone an aortic dissection, Dr. Matilla decided to use I.Ceram technology because of the intrinsic qualities of porous ceramic implant such as colonization of the implant by bone cells, ease of placement or even radiolucency. Dr. Matilla considered the clinical hindsight acquired by this technology sufficient to guarantee his patient a follow-up appropriate to her state of health.
