Nagui “overwhelmed by emotion”
If Jean-Jacques Goldman would have liked to help the host out, he would have assured him that it was not possible. “He tells me: ‘I don’t have my musicians, I don’t have Carole Fredericks, I don’t have Michael Jones, we’re totally off, we’re on vacation so it’s not possible'”, remembered Nagui. The next day, however, he had a nice surprise. “He calls me at two in the morning with this very particular and wonderful sense of humor… He says to me: ‘Shall I wake you up?’”declared the host before slipping: “He said to me: ‘Have you found someone? I’m still worried!'” So, Nagui let him know that he had found no one and that France 2 would be obliged to rebroadcast a TV film to fill its time slot. To his great surprise, the interpreter ofFly Me told him that he could free himself to save his skin. “If I come with a guitar, will that be okay?”, he would have told him. Moved, Mélanie Page’s husband said – as you can see in the video extract above: “Honestly, I cried. I was overcome by the emotion of humanity, friendship, kindness… I felt saved and I cried like shit, but I take responsibility!“ On the big day, it was finally accompanied by Carole Fredericks and Michael Jones that Jean-Jacques Goldman went to the set of Taratata.
