He is the father of an eight month old baby boy with his partner Justin Mitika.
In particular, the actor revealed that he wanted a child for a long time. However, he was waiting for his spouse, who was 10 years younger, to be ready too. In July 2020, they finally became parents. "This is someone new coming into your life and you have to learn to love him like anyone else who comes into your daily life. It takes a while but we had a lot of fun, I love it ", he said at first.

Jesse Tyler Ferugson then opened up about how he educates his son. "We educate him as if he was gay, until he has decided whether he is heterosexual or not", he said.
