“I even cried”: Stéphane Plaza evokes a particular project with his father

The favorite host of M6 changes channel and endorses in Meurtres à Figeac, Saturday June 18 at 9:10 p.m. on France 3, the role of a taciturn policeman, at the antipodes of his image. Confidences of a troublemaker.

Did you easily agree to be unfaithful to M6?

Stephane Plaza: It is an honor to have been chosen to play in this collection which is an institution. France Télévisions came to get me to play this tormented policeman, very far from me. I liked it because I’m a white clown, I have a lot of flaws. It helps me to embody more serious heroes.

How did you prepare?

I spent several nights in police stations and practiced shooting. I wandered around my agency in a policeman’s uniform to get used to it. Then I went to Figeac for a month, without a phone, without worrying about my real estate business. I wanted to stay focused and not think about anything else.

You call yourself the most awkward man in France. How did that translate on set?

There was a huge worry when I was driving! Fortunately, there was no breakage. However, I lost my keys. But I was relatively studious, wise. I let myself be guided by the director and the other actors.

You who suffer from dyspraxia and dyslexia, how do you work on your texts?

The difficulty is when you discover the text. We confuse the letters, we stumble over the sounds. Acting in the theater helps me a lot. I take this opportunity to tell people who suffer from it, like me, that you can arrive in life by being different. You have to believe in your dreams!

Exactly, how is the adventure going? A magical couple the room of Laurent Ruquier with Valérie Mairesse at the Bouffes Parisiens?

Very well ! We play until July 17 and after the tour, we will return to Paris in March 2023. I play a magician. I had to learn to do tricks. It’s a boulevard piece that evolves over the performances and the audience’s reactions. Moreover, I invite Belgians and Swiss who come to see the show in Paris to toast with me in my dressing room!

What are you preparing for M6?

Change everything or move, a new concept that should soon arrive as a bonus. With the real estate agent Antoine Blandin and interior designer Sophie Ferjani, we are dealing with families who are hesitating between complete redecoration and moving. As Ringmaster, I help them make the right decision. And then there is another project that is close to my heart. It’s an intergenerational show where I go with my father, who is 90 years old. We film our daily life, our exchanges. The first was shot in Martinique and it was very tender. I even cried! I have an agreement in principle with the chain.

How was the filming of Search apartment or house with two candidates from Love is in the meadow (coming soon)?

I will know now that when Karine Le Marchand calls me, I have to think twice before answering. (Laughs.) But obviously, I can’t refuse him anything, and Hervé and Stéphanie are endearing people. I made my hair gray anyway, their request was difficult.

You recently mentioned your sexual orientation in the JDD. Why ?

I’ve been asked this question for fifteen years. I wanted to clarify things. I go to Gay Pride, I am for marriage for all, but I remain heterosexual. Afterwards, will you believe me, that’s another story!
