Patrice Laffont returned to his past mistakes in a podcast posted by Tele-Leisure January 15th. He discussed his love life and the education of his children.

At 82, he has a lot of memories… And not just good ones. On his separation from his first wife, Patrice Laffont expressed regret: “I was the one who sort of “got screwed up” a bit. I was a little fickle, I wasn’t a great dad and I wasn’t a great husband…, said the retiree in the podcast parents first, posted by Tele-Leisure January 15th. Before knowing 23 years of marriage with Valérie, Patrice Laffont was married to a certain Catherine, mother of his first two children: Fabrice and Axelle, who became an actress.

For the ex-presenter of Fort Boyard, this first love failure was also a family failure, affecting his children directly. “I think I was not a terrible dad at that time”, he says in the podcast. Today, Patrice Laffont does not hesitate to express himself on this subject, specifying that he “talk about it again” with them, “now that they are grown”. “Not long ago, Axelle said to me: ‘Do you remember, you never helped me with my homework'”, he recalls. Without trying to escape, Patrice Laffont assured that this “is right”, that he did not “not at all interested in their studies” and that he doesn’t have “not been strict at all”.
