In 1999, his brother Fabio, then 31 years old and passionate about aerobatics, was killed in a plane crash. “I always found this pastime stupid“, confides the actress before adding: “The life of the Foïs is an unstable balance between a lot of luck and a lot of misfortune. We are used to disaster, but we also have a life-saving practice of listening and access to shrinks.” A technique of self-preservation which does not always prove to be infallible. Indeed, as Liberation indicates, Marina Foïs did not have the strength to read I am one in two, the book that her sister Giulia Foïs wrote about her rape.
