‘I made a mistake once’: The day Keanu Reeves injured a stuntman

Keanu Reeves confides in the time he caused an accident on the set of a film from the John Wick saga.

Currently starring in John Wick: Chapter 4, Keanu Reeves spoke to the site ComicBook.com. The latter questioned the actor on the difficulty of shooting certain stunts and the dangers that result.

For the purposes of these films, the 58-year-old actor often performs perilous stunts and must perform precise choreography in order not to injure his partners, especially when using nunchakus, swords or driving.

But despite all precautions, accidents can occur. Keanu Reeves also reveals having made a mistake once and having opened the head of a stuntman during the filming of one of the films of the action saga.

“During these shoots everyone is quite tired, but it’s a good tiredness. It’s like you’ve climbed a mountain and you’re resting, like when you made a game and you won.

In terms of accidents, I made a mistake once: I cut open a man’s head. And I felt useless. Another time, a guy got hit by a car and was taken to the hospital, but he got away with it. All this to say that you have to be careful. But it’s great because, on set, we all look out for each other.

Keanu Reeves in John Wick 4

The comedian adds that no one was hurt on the set of John Wick 4 despite it being the film in the franchise that features the most action scenes. Reeves recently told the magazine Total Movie that it was the most difficult action movie he had ever had to shoot.

“John Wick 4′ was the toughest physical role I’ve ever had in my career. They really trained me so I could have what we call ‘the toolkit’ that I needed.

Keanu Reeves has indeed spent nearly three months training exclusively for the stunts of this fourth installment. In particular, he had to learn how to do a reverse 180 while driving while reloading his pistol and shooting through the door for the action scene taking place on the Champs-Elysées roundabout.

In John Wick: Chapter 4, John discovers a way to defeat the criminal organization known as the Big Table. But before he wins his freedom, he must face a new adversary who has forged powerful alliances across the world and is turning John’s old friends into enemies.
