Véronique is one of the three sisters of Igor and Grichka Bogdanoff. In Gala, she evokes with emotion their incredibly strong bonds and also returns to the subject of cosmetic surgery.
If Igor and Grichka Bogdanoff were the kind of twins that nothing could separate, we must not forget that their siblings extended not to themselves but to six members. They have a half-brother, François Davant, but also three sisters – Laurence, Géraldine and Speedwell. The latter delivers this Thursday very touching confidences on the two scientific popularizers recently deceased of Covid-19, in the columns of the magazine Gala. She recalls in particular that she did not know them until adulthood, since she is almost 20 years younger than them. But it was by learning their childhood history that she understood their indestructible fusion. “The twins were raised mainly by our grandmother and without their father, who then returned. It pained me to hear that. I don’t think we can explain their journey, their aspiration to the singularity without this key “, she explains.

This discreet sophrologist, who is also surprised at the relatively similar time at which her brothers succumbed to the disease, returns to one of the most taboo subjects for them: their impressive physical metamorphosis. They never seemed to tell the whole truth about the exact origin of their oversized faces. A rare hormonal disease called acromegaly, which causes deformities, has been suspected. But plastic surgery was really on everyone’s mind. They refused to have recourse to it. And even Véronique admits today not having succeeded in clearing up all this mystery. “One day, I questioned them for two hours about cosmetic surgery. They were walking me around. I didn’t get anything out of it.”, she concedes.
“A way to write their legend”
Which does not erase certain other memories. She tells : “We played at catching each other by the chin for the time of an ‘I hold you, you hold me by the goatee’ and then there you go. It was their fantasy and their choice. You had to know how to sort through the statements, with them”. It was not only the subject of physical appearance that worried those close to Igor and Grichka Bogdanoff. Their sister concludes: “I was surprised that they say they are autistic. Asperger’s or Grichka claims to have an IQ of 180. I took that as a way of writing their legend”.
