Nearly five months after contracting an infection in his right eye from his contact lenses, Marie-Sophie Lacarrau is better. The newscaster of 13 hours on TF1 confided exclusively on Thursday, May 12 in The Parisian. She explained that overnight she had no no longer tolerated daylight. After several tests, she learned that she had a amoebic keratitis. She confided: “It is an infection of the cornea by amoebas, parasites present in tap water. The fatal combination was: lens and tap water.“.
During the duration of her treatment, Marie-Sophie Lacarrau confessed that she had “suffered a lot“. Indeed, she explained: “It is a disease that hurts a lot, like its treatments. You feel like you have gravel or shards of glass in your eye. The pain radiates to the head and teeth. Can’t imagine it would take so long, so painful“. Jean-Pierre Pernaut’s replacement explained that she had to stay for two months in the dark. A long period where she could hardly do anything.

Monday May 16, Marie-Sophie Lacarrau will his big comeback TF1. A moment that she looks forward to as she confided in the Parisian : “I’m doing so much better! Finally, I look ahead and no longer behind. Knowing that I’m back on the air on Monday is enough to make me happy. During my 4 and a half months of absence, I waited to resume a normal life and my work“.
Before being able to prepare for her return to the television set, the presenter had to wait for the green light from her doctor and above all rehabilitate his eye. Today, there is no longer any question for her to wear contact lenses. “I don’t want to take any more risks” she said before leaving the suspense concerning the use of glasses or not on the set of TF1. “Without, that would mean without a teleprompter, like Jean-Pierre. I did some tests. It’s quite comfortable. You will see on Monday” she concluded.
