“I thought I had won a friend”: Adeline (My incredible fiancé) criticizes the attitude of Laurent Ournac

In an interview with 20 Minutes, Adeline spoke at length about her adventure on the show Mon Incroyable Fiancé. And 17 years later, his relationship with Laurent Ournac is not looking good. Quite the contrary.

Mon Incroyable Fiancé was a revolutionary show. Remember: during this creation of M6, a young woman named Adeline was duped by the production that she was going to meet the man of her life under the eye of the cameras. But when she sees for the first time her suitor, who was supposed to be a charming prince… everything falls apart. The latter, Laurent Ournac (played by the actor Laurent Fortin) had only one and only objective: to behave in an execrable way so that the candidate gives up.

Otherwise, after the deception has been revealed, if Adeline succeeded in overcoming her prejudices – and that she ensured that her parents adhered to the marriage – she would win the sum of … 100,000 euros. Something she managed to do. More than 17 years after this program which had fascinated the whole of France, the latter decided to come back to her memories with the media 20 Minutes during a long interview.

Adeline: “I didn’t understand why we couldn’t be friends anymore”

“What was the hardest part was acting in front of my parents. I had to improvise in the face of their emotions. Every morning, we had a brief from the production which told us what we were going to do: tell them that we were going to get engaged, get married, etc. There were stages, but I didn’t have a plot. Laurent, he had a coach and he knew what he had to do while me, it was total improvisation. It’s not a comedy, it’s real people and there is still a perpetual questioning, we don’t want to go too far so as not to hurt them”, began to reminisce about the former contestant.

But whereas one could logically believe thatshe and Laurent Fortin had woven a real bond during the filming, the latter withered over time. Thing Adeline regrets to the highest degree: “Filming took place in February 2005 and the show aired in July. We saw each other many times before the broadcast, we were very, very close. I thought I had won a friend for life, we also said that we would never leave each other“.

Before continuing : “In the end, at the broadcast, nothing went as planned. The success was great, Laurent saw that he could continue there, he seized opportunities and he understood that he had to separate from me in his trajectory. It was quite difficult for me because I didn’t understand why we couldn’t be friends anymore.”. A ruined friendship.
